    September 1987 Walle A. Natute Award in Neural Sciences, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I was selected among my classmates for showing the most clinical insight and intellectual excellence in the neural sciences, as well as an enthusiasm for learning and teaching.
    November 1989 Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Elected during my senior year at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
    May 1990 The Doran J. Stephans Prize, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I was awarded this prize by the medical alumni. It is given to a student who shows "promise of developing the personal and professional qualities that distinguished the late Dr. Doran Stephans, a graduate of the first class of the school, an inspiring teacher, talented investigator, kindly and able physician."
    May 1990 The George Trombetta Prize, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I was awarded this prize by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.     Activities and Interests: Gourmet cooking. I won first prize ($5000) and second prize ($1000) in the National Courvoisier Cooking Contest in August 1986. In November 1994, I won a contest for holiday desserts and prepared the recipes on public television. In April 1999 I was a finalist in a contest sponsored by Healthy Choice Products and competed on stage with Graham Kerr as emcee.
